Hey Robin, How's it going?

A bit of a late email this week!  Setting up the new place has been a challenge, but it's almost ready and I think you're going to like what I have for you today! (I'll keep it short)

FREE set of 'sculpting hair' brushes

I'm happy to share with you a new small set of three brushes specifically for sculpting hair in ZBrush (version 2020.1.2 and above).  These are the actual resources I've been using on a project for client and it has sped up my work quite a bit, take a look:

In the coming weeks I'm going to put together a quick tutorial showing you a very simple and effective technique where I'll show you how to use the brushes, but for know you can download them and play around with them. I'm sure you'll find some good use for them!

Grab the brushes here (ZIP file)

Brushes description

Out of the three brushes, there are two for sculpting long hair but you can easily variate the length by simply doing shorter strokes.

The one called ZBGs_Standard_hair_sculpting.ZBP should be your 'go to' brush for quick hair sculpting. It gives you lots of control over the intensity and size with the pressure on your tablet.

The second brush for long hair sculpting called 'ZBGs_Long_Hair_sculpting.ZBP' looks very similar but it produces sharper lines and more contrasted strands of hair. It also gives you a lot of control over the placement depending on how you do the stroke, if you want even more control, you can increase the 'Lazy mouse' value under the Stroke Palette.

The third brush called ZBGs_Fur_sculpting.ZBP is obviously the one for sculpting shorter hair or animal fur. This one is pretty simple but it helps you to produce those nice changes in the direction on the fur. You can use this brush to generate a quick base and use something like the Dam_standard brush (or the 'sharp knife' from the digital clay pack if you have it) to further refine those breaks in the clumps of hair.

That's pretty much it really! I hope you find this resources useful. As part of my VIP list you are the first one to try these brushes out.

Once I release the new tutorial I'll also make the brushes available on the ZBGs and I'll let you know about the tutorial when is ready ;)

Some great news and a couple of updates!
